I brought it through after decades of professionally working on the interface of troubled mums and their birth trauma from then on – on all levels – out the chasm between what is written and taught – and what my lived experience – as a women’s worker and a birth attendant was.

This is LIFE – not ‘medical’ – we are enhancing normal. Having been to many births and having been an obstetric natural healing problem solver/sleuth. I knew it was easy – though it had not been for me. I set about working out why. And here are the answers.

Women had been coming to see – to get pregnant to stay pregnant and to feel better – with any issue that cropped up. So I started going to the births and using my hands – and the Bach flower remedies – doctoring up her drinking water – moving through each emotion and its stucknesses. Bodies are supposed to easily birth.

Personal – Baby 1 – Feb 1977
As a 21 year old maiden. Byron Bay, Australia. 12 days post ovulation date EDC 7lb 7oz.
Spontaneous 12 hour labour: membranes ruptured at 5 cm. 30 mins to pushing. 90 mins 2nd stage –
BABY
- Head molding (mum had a pudendal block) a quarter of an inch to go to have him out – after 90 minutes of supported squat
- I suspect that the doc was showing off his skills – as he was training up a new colleague ..
Oh for sensible midwifery – all we needed was me upright, and the What Dads Can Do work done. That was 2005 – along with the 2 videos – Massage and Birthing – What Dads Can Do . .

And to assist should miscarriage/early pregnancy loss happen.
Not what any bub needs – a mournful mum and birth trauma – after being heaved out.
Baby gets le Boyer – to go into warm bath.
Dad gets baby – who completely unraveled/relaxed and looked over at his dad on hitting the warm water.
Mum to be stitched up – (slit back to anus for the last 1inch of the journey) . . lost at least a litre – no blood offered. Butterfly clip in to do – but the little country hospital got too busy.
No pain meds – only warm salt bath and I.R. lamp as needed.
Baby 2 – Jan 1984
le Boyer 7 years on – private small maternity Brisbane hospital.
3 days pre EDD. 7lb 10oz. Spontaneous 8 hour labour: membranes ruptured at 5 cm. 30 mins to pushing. 90 mins 2nd stage
Intact peri. Lost at least 1.5 litres, allergic to the blood products – packed cells and whole blood. Packed in ice to calm reactions – ended up with ++ injections and eventually steroids. Cystocele from being hit in belly to dislodge clots I did not have (old nursing practice).
Baby 3 – Nov 1986
Private Bne hospital again – OP face presentation and bub already brain injured – could not help to get out. Induced at 39 weeks – membrane ruptured at 5 cm (not in labor). 90 mins pushing no fetal descent 8lb 7oz
Keilland’s rotation (Epidural in case of C section need). Intact peri. Soon after I was lost in the mire of her nearly dying. In utero toxoplasmosis infection and subsequent maternal rescue (to have her alive as a 35 year old) – instead of the medical prognosis. Mum? I kept the breastfeeding together whilst no one heard the maternal desperation pleas – till bub at 2 weeks old was nearly dead. (Always listen to mums – they know).
Baby 4 – Nov 1994 – No dad about. 39 weeks C section 8lb 2oz
Single motherhood at 40 with a massively brain injured 8 year old in tow ..
C section due to clot on placenta from maternal fall, and transverse bub.
Asking . .
What could we have been achieved had we been a bonded couple?
Thank you to these 3 men and the four bubs that chose this mother – to further her growth.
Professionally – I found that all I was being taught was incorrect
This I thought it through: worked out what to do with pregnant women and ended up developing my own ways and teaching nationally, internationally and writing ‘What Dad Can Do’. In my baby making years – I became the ‘go to’ home birth midwives’ resource. I turned birth progress about. Problem? Why not undo what is happening – instead of watchfully waiting?
Bach flower remedies were a must – as the emotional state of mum is crucial.
As well as bringing in my fingers, massage oil and my awareness of how a body opens – when we let it.
It all works!!!

I tend to be the one called – ‘when no one else can’ – as all of this works. .
We all need to be all of the best we can be – nature provides – survival of the fittest.
Baby 4 – Nov 1994
AGAIN – pregnant . . ended not with the planned home water birth – BUT in a scheduled C section . .
A whole story in that .. .
I know the problem – a gift that never stops giving.
That is my next project – C Section Consequences.
We have to consider Mammalian Maternity first.
I am on it. .
First I needed some practitioners who could do this work – and can teach it.
