A new mum after major abdominal surgery – and often as the end of a marathon – to then tend another – instead of yourself
Did you feel a little overwhelmed?
Caesarean is the only surgery where seven layers of tissue are opened and the mother is expected to stand up six hours later, taking responsibility for another person. The often intense uterine contractions, (as a product of the stimulation of mammary glands, release of oxytocin… etc) and of course the healing of the dinner plate sized wound within where the baby was nourished. And then there is the – magicking the extra blood to make the milk nonstop .
What next?
At some point, your world settles down and you realise that the medicos with their brushing off the dramas of living in a post surgical body are REAL, not due to ‘aging; or ‘wear and tear’ but ineptitude in providing after care manual.
it may be your belly does not look or feel right. Maybe your ‘innards’ are not working as they did. To say – ‘that is normal’ means only that the person stating this has not lived through what you have You may need to know. Working with women since the late ’70’s (when the railroads tracks that populated their bodies *prior to laproscopies and modern ways) I have been amazed at what is FIXED when the flows are relieved. means that their entire meridian systems were in a state of entanglement. And the fascia – and the viscera were NOT sliding and gliding as intended. This often means we are not as would have been without that operation.
