ME
I am traveling around Australia and sometimes get to stop with internet and intention – and thus it has been a week or so since I touted this project.
After seeing what mes steh acup a=eucation was in as a student n 1977 , I knew it coudl be at least sorted – so whnen a master shwoed up ,tehj basics woudl be the re – so owhen aske dto write a undergraduate course’ – at the time this was how to = not what is written, not what will get ‘runs’ on the jboard of tertiary education – this was about helping those who were falling through the cracks in life and needed moreas they werre past depserate – intehse time s- it was pain – and also bleeing stomacj ahand dudenal ulcers, thsoe who =se hands were shook byteh doctors and siw=wihe=shed well – so they had no otehr ption than to attedn a smelly shopfront ‘office’ werehere lots fo moxa smoke was our badge.

In eth days ehere noone cared about smoke – all smoked n=maybe 60 cigaee=ttes daily at work – really – so my no extraction fan – all put up with.

And I was ofter=n with mocx aon beneedles – with up to 20 all going at once – in one room – one of my students wa smy helper – to do teh jlymphatuc da=riangae adn then looking iut for teh moxa on needles (none fell off) ands I went aornd teh otehr 2 rooms – thre ein opreration at once.
i usulaly di it all mysel f- butinteh earlier times, my students xo=sometimes came in).

Paiin – was also gyne as endo was notdiagnised till laprosciopiues, and teh progresterone implanyts, teh ablations and teh laser everythings were in teh futrure.
Women wer etold basically to suck it up sister =- and as there was alos no IF bakc then and as teh only woman in town – I saw a skweqwed patient base – women as well as the usual desperates

The Brisbane college was begun initially by chiroprcators – who waned more – and they banded tor=getrh m got a fe wo ftreh Syndney lectureres up monthlym an dwe went from there – so my major yteacher was a choiro – who NEVER sai dthat he did not know.
thiswas an u=isue, as some of us = as me – were after more thna he-us versionf o life.

When Clive and Tina Minton arrived from the UK they set about getting international speakers to Australai so in the ealy 80’s (after Dr van Buren came out x2 in 1979. 1980 I traveledtio do teh acup trainujng retreat in Kangarr=oo Valley to se efitrst Ted Kaptchuk, then Giovanni, an din Sydney, Dr John Shne x 2.

He also came up to Brisbane,m and eventually Dr Hammer came out also.
i followed him through the advanced pulse workshop in 1995.

ntention in the 80’s wa sI wrote a book cvalled Moving Blocjaed tO healing as it seems =d that whilkst I was designeing and writing and teahcing and being n clinc using what I found worke d- I was more and moe at variancwe with what teh men were coning out with – I d=say men a swe women a etaken out woth familie s- wi=hetrh rnwe have kids or not.
As I starte dacuocljnertie on acocunt of my then 6 week old baby, I was inteh cohort no one seeme dto care aboiut – as in teh late 70;s’s what was ‘sexy; for acuocjntrits swas pain – an das we have ==d no acces sto what is so assumed now – anti inflammatories, arthroscopes, and scanning, laproscopies and so on – it was looking back – lijke teh jwikld west.

So tyhat was nmy begunnings and frm there, ever thinking, I sytarted my own ways -as we all do.
Alsoways shoeing o to what a=else was about and attending all that passed my way – on anythujng.

I strtae dwith Lorne Brown who then did Pro D seminars – and the first one was pulling out the cold.
Is alos what I did first for eLotus,
I will start this weries with midcrobleeding – so you have teh needling that yuo are sort of use dto

I do not do ‘sterile’ techniques – or use needle poppers – all ‘free hand’

BEWARE – this is ‘old school’ = what works

AND – on the early 90-‘s when about a third of my patients were living with AIDS, I was seeing all the same – no gloves, masks or worries. This is beforee of the Hep C awareness – was called non A non B and we all sterilised our needles in these easier times – the disposables happened in the mid 90’s.

No one gt anything – and needle stuck injuries initially were a BIG concern as to the hepatitis and about 10 % of my patients either told me that hey had it (early patients were ‘alternative’ and had shared needles or whatever – but sometimes were not even aware that they had it.
So life in the trenches was rewarding as there was us or suffer.

Hence, I have odd ways of doing things – because that is what I found worked
in these new times – still – I am on the experimental paths.
