Welcome

Living in this world is costing us more as we are not in a simple life
And – we are being poisoned form all fronts – which is not what we are designed for
Some of us are in the latter years of our loves, and need to stay out of ‘managed care’.
I do say this tongue in cheek, though in my life I have seen many generations pass before me.
As a young child, I often stayed with my maternal grandmother in the house she was not born in, (that was down the street) but lived from her marriage to birth her children in, and to then be carted out to the Blind Institute’s old people’s home to basically curl up in a fetal ball, sucking boiled lollies. In the times she lived in – the mercury and other magic metals were indiscriminantly used – she had a kerosine refrigerator in the back room off the kitchen a Bell wind up telephone on the wall – party line – a gas oven, a food safe and an outside drop toilet; that was emptied by the night cart man.
She went into care as she could not see to be safe in her house..
Her sisters were living at home till they died. Her daughters only one went into aged ‘care’ – and she had been given excess cortisone and was in a nobility scooter 60 years ago – when they were highly unusual. My mum died in hospital , after putting the garden fork through her foot /having a stroke. .
She was adamant no old people’s home – we feel similarly – so what to do? We need to think forwards – and we all need to not rely on our own children – they have enough going on – so what next? As I will show you below – what I am doing for me (70) and Duncan (77).
The immediate answer is to Live Well . . In times past, we would have been like Grandma – still in the house we set up to raise children – and then rattling around in it in our elder years. Grandma had a large house – all had many children – she only had four girls. Four bedrooms – each with a double bed, a cupboard for the chamber pot and a free standing wooden wardrobe .. . Lino on the floor, with mats and rugs that were taken out to be beaten on a good day- and a house filled with ruby glass ornaments, chandeliers and curly legged wooden furniture. . It was/is a treasure to immerse myself in now as memories – and long gone.
WHAT TO DO
Life recipe – move – always factor in being outside and moving EVERY day – maybe twice.
I have my garden to nurture..
I am focusing here in staying well – retrieving health and enhancing it ..

What we do
Live out of the way – and with a garden I can tend to stay sane – also to forage – greens and herbs for juices, the plants growing to encourage life – for birds, bees and butterflies, plus the steaming herbs.
1 – cold pressed juice around 5 ish at night – pre tea – ideally as simpler meal than late lunch – and D has his homemade chai – 2 cups of the best milk – so I usually drink water after my lemon in hot water first up , Chinese herbs (powdered in hot water) and having oil pulled (coconut oil with oregano, clove or oil of thieves drops in). – to avoid the root canal the dentist knows I will not take).
