Structure determines function
When the body is not where it is designed to be – it cannot do what it is designed to do.
A hernia happens when an organ pushes through an opening that a muscle is holding in place. In the case of a hiatal hernia, the muscle involved is the diaphragm. Normally, the esophagus and stomach join together right at the hiatus, which is an opening in the diaphragm that allows these digestive organs and the vagus nerve to pass through. When the diaphragm muscle becomes weak, a portion of the stomach protrudes up through the hiatus, resulting in a hiatal hernia.
Where the stomach and esophagus join together, there’s a sphincter that closes so the stomach acid doesn’t wash up into the esophagus. When you have a hiatal hernia, that sphincter is mechanically forced open, allowing acid to wash up into the esophagus, causing acid reflux symptoms. At the same time, this displacement irritates the vagus nerve, which can cause troubling symptoms that imitate other illnesses.
Here we have more of the multi modality, multi linage, what-ever – works . .
As an acupuncture student, I had no idea that I was signed up for a unique experience. My lecturer was a maverick. He was a chiropractor who was at the forefront – and as such ruffled feathers..
I am so grateful = that my eclectic training allowed me free expression . .
Hiatal hernia syndrome? (CLICK) Another version of this (CLICK)
From where I am now – this is a process – not a discrete action .
Before I do the actual technique, I set the person up to win – and we may spend a few hours working in other issues that have led to why a simple ‘fix’ as yet has not worked.
Stuck Liver Qi is part of the picture. So many other ‘labels’ an acupuncturist may also add-on . .
The cold invasion and the Damp and the low Yang Qi .
To get the actual book – see here
A different version of the experience of the syndrome (CLICK)
This is something that so many have.
Few know of it.
The correction is safe effective and when used especially after eating – so there is something in the stomach to assist the movement – really can make a huge difference.
When?
Not only
STRUCTURE DETERMINES FUNCTION – all needs to be where it was designed to be
Hiatal hernia correction – check & fix
- What it is – often it is NOT the actual hernia and diaphragmatic invasion that is the issue – but a constant state of being where it is not to be – rage will do this – and then the SLQR makes even more sense to all cases.
- Origin? – Dr John Velthiem [chiropractor] (my acupuncture lecturer 1977-78)
- Why it is – We are what is stuck – ‘stress’ . . . and added to the invasion of cold – the Spleen Qi/Yang falls over – too much to do – juggling over capacity.
- How to do it – As on the page above respectfully and walk them through each step before and during the session. It is a surprise – and if needed/performed well – it is a blessing – as all of a sudden they can breathe – they feel free, they feel lighter – and of course – can live easier in their body.
- What it may feel like – under your hands/fingers
Use force . . . sometimes you can feel the stomach under your fingers.. . - What it feels like to them.
This is invasive – be warned and warn them.
If it is really successful – they will feel a pulling down their oesophagus - When to use – When the point on the Left (Lu 10) is a lot sorer than the one on the left. Also if they have symptoms as on the page above. Often check this, then do the Ileo cecal valve correction – and recheck if it needed doing before, I would still do it FIRST.
- When not to use – If they are in distress about you being in the area – maybe as they have had surgery there .
- What to do to set it up to win – Ideally have eaten a largish meal in the past 30 minutes – not so useful on an empty stomach.
I mention another ‘fixer’ – as part of the Reconnecting body of work – the ileocecal valve correction . . on another page
If ‘diagnosed’ with an actual hernia – but when there is trouble taking a deep breath, or eating enough in one sitting.
When a child may be bed wetting (the buildup of CO2 over night as the breathing is so shallow).
Who knew?
Maybe invest in this kindle version of a well needed article. Anyone who engages thinking over many modalities – leaving the Western modern medical versions of life alone. Here we see what is very possibly the easiest way to sort out the consequences of Stuck Liver Qi invading the gut – creating GERD and all sorts of mischief! The diaphragm needs to be able to move well. Essentially this is performed for all of the above.
To test if needed is – press the acupuncture point Lu 10 on the thenar eminence of the left hand.
if it is much sorer with/from pressure on the left Lu 10 than the right – do it
Need to set this up – to win . . .
We need to start with undoing the Stuck Liver Qi
I misspoke . . .
All mammals – was to be a girl
nd the male hormones took over
Hence he is MALE now.The entire process – 19 minutes – SETTING IT UP – not the movement yet
We do ‘checkers’, and set up for a ‘fixer’ . . .
3.30 – ‘Pull up’ – is a perineal clench
4.00 – Press left Pc 1 and CV 2 – to see how the prostate is
4.30 – Check/ see the ovarian suspensory ligament disparity.
7.00 – SLQR – both sides – change position.
8.30 – Liver Qi holds the structure hostage
9.15 – Heart chakra – made in a war zone – and aftermath
11.00 – His twisted the pelvis – is releasing – hence we check the OSL. and through touch – we may release . . .
13.00 – Sacral work
14.30 – Yanking sacral area (use castor packs after this).
16.30 – more gouging
17.00 – Glut gouge
18.30 – Check again . .(O.S.L.)
Freeing up the middle/upper heater interface.
- Reiki
- Cuddle therapy and then onto the
- Sacral area to check out the breakage and
- Adhesions to be undone to get the GV to flow through easily.
- Massage/touch therapy as in my manual for opening pelvises
- Sacral yanks (walk up the sacrum gradually yanking pulled up skin as you go (this is vastly easier if the needing at least has been done – best is the scar moxa fan
Just the move . . . (the ACTUAL FIX)
The ACTUAL FIX again
At home to back this up – drink a tepid cup of water or tea and after this
Rise up on toes and thump down into heels 10x ,
Repeat for a week – this may assist the stomach to stay in place.
How does it come out of where it is to be?
If we are in acupuncture land – Stuck Liver Qi (CLICK) – and it bouncing up against the diaphragm as we ‘swallow’ our rage.
Any hit – belly flop when little, accident with vaulting horse, accidental knock in belly, eating large mes before bed, being weak and not being strong enough to keep organs and tissues in place (Spleen Qi Xu ) and of course – weakening ourselves in general with way to much cold invasion – all leading to the Spleen Qi weak again.
The Liver Qi goes over and attacks that which holds all in place – the Spleen Qi – and here we have almost everyone. How to undo this?
How to rescue yourself?
