After C section – what next? Decades later

You may also have wondered – what to do to clear this.
As a natural health detective, across multiple modalities and lineages, as a new mum when I started acupuncture training in 1977, and as the only woman acupuncturist/naturopath/body worker in Brisbane city in the late 70’s I got to experience a great education in practice, working with apparently hopeless situations, as there was no IVF, HRT, laproscopies, arthroscopies, anti inflammatories and the assumption that if you wanted a baby cut out – if you asked for it was the stuff of fantasy.
Without the rise of epidurals, C sections were dangerous: almost no one was ‘induced’. You waited pregnancy for the natural ripening, you birthed, you took baby home, and maternity was no one else’s business. Your baby, your life. AND – but – is this body functional enough now?

Many have no idea what they are signing up for in the modern maternal sphere. Baby’s experience seems to not part of the deal. What about bonding? Mothering the newborn mother – who is? Maybe a wrong turn WAS taken – but this is not my focus here. Yet.

If you are an acupuncturist, seeing women – shall we undo what is blocking her flows first? Perhaps not play that diagnosis game. Triage. Calm the Shen, take out the cold and retrieve the Yang Qi and now – scars. Clear out what has been carried within, and has likely been ‘on hold’ until someone as yourself, (now having seen this possibility) – looks further with them?

Or It could be you also carry this wound. Yes – baby is alive (likely). But what about you? All well flowing? See more here.

My life with this work was enhanced by my early training with lymphatic and fascial techniques, taught as part of the acupuncture course I am so grateful I experienced. Not an academic ‘what was written’/’what the men said’ – but real life. And me a new mum, seeing so many women whose maternity was blocked their womanhood was damaged, their hearts were fractured,.

Eventually I went into womb work – initially Arvigo, with Dr Rosita in 2014-16 then working with Dr Jen Mercier in late 2016, then creating my own system of Moving Blockages by unlocking what had been left over, life residue. I knew I needed to know more than what I had gleaned. My pelvic opening work.

My first offering in this series – mainly for acupuncturists or Qi movers – is ‘Effective Healing After C Sections – Historical’ first. I am not looking at the acute, or even when still in child bearing years – but for those of us who now carry the consequence of the entanglement of tissues and emotions from an incident long ago. You can start RIGHT now – as the unblocking your scars is a self paced, you work on your own body – knee operation? Your own forceps scar? That was my first scar experience – over my eye as I was dragged out of mum as a forceps baby. See more here.

The scar course – ‘After a traumatic C-section which led to over a year of physical and emotional pain and the miraculous healing that followed from meeting Heather Bruce, I have continued my healing journey by undertaking Heather’s course “Unlocking Scars”. At this point, I am halfway through and already can say with absolute certainty that it’s worth doing. I love it! The modules are bite sized pieces of information with videos that give you clear, simple, and easy to follow instructions and guides to continue your own journey in healing without any overwhelm.

One woman said . . .
“I was fortunate enough to see Heather for a second session today. After clearing a lot of the trauma from my body after an emergency C-section due to medical negligence in our first session, other aches and pains were coming up in my body that were unexpected. Heather gently and lovingly guided me through her “gentling way”, a healing session that had me feeling better than I have in years. My tailbone and hip pain I was experiencing has completely gone, I can walk with ease, and (strange as it may sound) my tongue looked pink and healthy and happy compared to its yellow, soggy beginnings at the start of the session. Without a doubt these sessions with Heather have been the best possible thing I could do for my body and mind not just post-birth, but after the trauma that we all build up in our daily lives. I feel light, open, and free. Thank you Heather!”

The scar course – “Heather’s experience shines through and by already implementing only the first few steps I have noticed a huge difference in my overall health and well-being and a continuation of the healing around my C-section scar and various other scars I have collected over the years. With some modules only 2 minutes long, it’s easy to work through whenever I have a moment throughout the day without feeling like I need to sit and dedicate an afternoon to the learning with a toddler in the house”.   Bonnie
