Imagine. You hear an anguished “Muuuumm -” followed by a thud. Being the noise a baby skull makes hitting the concrete, after a drop of around six feet. My 41 year old yesterday reminded me of this occurrence tonight. I had mercifully forgotten. As a result, I have written this practical finger rescue course as you may not know what to do extra to the usual First Aiding.

Nearly 31 years ago, on my 40th birthday, having a meet ‘n’ greet with the family who were to take over care of my precious 
profoundly autistic 8 year old daughter, for me to abandon her to return back to Aust to attempt to raise said 3 month old baby with his dad, this happened. A child had put a toy on the steps that my son had walked up a few minutes before. No one noticed: older son went to bring his just awoken brother to me to be fed. He saved himself from the drop – by opening his arms.
What would you do? As had happened before, I had tools with me. A half inch needle. Inserted where I knew he would be revived. He had not breathed since the concrete connection. I put needle in, he took a deep breath and screamed. For 20 minutes straight. Urgent trip to emergency – they stripped his clothes off to see what other damage 
I had inflicted. No treatment – just judgement. Me panicking over my 11 year old, who had potentially destroyed his own world. Once baby suckled, he was let home with me. No scans, no follow-up. Without that needle, I doubt he would now be here. Many healers were involved in the urgent rescue. His skull was misshapen. Osteopaths, distant spiritual helpers.
