WDCD/Foundational Moves – Sacral Moxa fan

This is something that seems silly – but once you have felt it – you will be hooked. Ideally do it on your partner (you can’t do for yourself) and then they will be happy to help, as they feel also the benefit plus you are already set up to do it – and it is quick and easy. Likely no more than 2 -5 minutes from start to finish. Always in an upwards movement, always using the fingers as a spacer, so you do not touch the skin.

What is it? – A quick way to settle/soothe and relieve most distress.
Origin – My busy obstetric practice – simplest way to undo baby in wrong spot, sciatica and any back weakness/pain
Why is it? – Improves the Yang Qi flow in its natural direction – up the spine. Allows the Qi to open, to undo any blockages in the belly, the pelvis, the entire body. Especially undoes that which is stuck – all levels.
How is It? – Easy – anyone can.
What you need – Moxa stick/roll/pole. The smokey kind. Some aluminium foil to roll around the lit stick to extinguish, matches,of some fire lighter. A safe, draft free warm spot with good ventilation as this is a lurking awfully clingy smell – but brilliantly easy to use to enhance anyone’s day.
What it may feel like (for you) – Careful to not burn them – by creating your finger as a spacer.
What it feels like for them? – Magically soothing. Often as though there is warm water running down their legs. Sometimes as though a warmth is penetrating all of their body – especially their pelvis.
When to use? – Almost any time – definitely when there is pain, distress in the back – before any massage or manipulation. Also – when tired/overwhelmed. Very soothing. It is hard to imagine whose day would not be improved with this.

When NOT to use? – As above. Also if they are hungry, thirsty or if angry (and never use if drunk/ affected by drugs).  Not if there is a local skin condition there.  Unless they are highly allergic to smoke.
How to set it up so all win? – Have been hydrated, also have more warm water (not cold at all) and have eaten something recently – salty, fatty, protein – not sweet. MUST be outside (smoke lingers, and is very hard to remove), not in even a slight breeze, and away from all prying eyes.

To ensure no cold invasion – as even the tiniest breeze will invalidate/possibly make what is happening far worse . .
