Welcome

NOT the ovarian ligament and not a ‘real ‘ ligament as it is not attaching to a bone – apparently HOWEVER – this is my interpretation of what to do – is really an extension of the Broad ligament. .
he suspensory ligament of the ovary is a thin fold of the parietal peritoneum which attaches to the lateral margin of the ovary and extends to the lateral pelvic sidewall. It is also referred to as the infundibulopelvic ligament It should not to be confused with the ovarian ligament which is a separate structure. Gross anatomy The suspensory ligament of the ovary makes up the superior border of the broad ligament. It is an important supporting structure of the ovary, suspending it in the pelvis.

Also called a rectouterine pouch

The suspensory ligament of the ovary, also infundibulopelvic ligament (commonly abbreviated IP ligament or simply IP), is a fold of peritoneum[1] that extends out from the ovary to the wall of the pelvis. Some sources consider it a part of the broad ligament of uterus[2] while other sources just consider it a “termination” of the ligament.[3] It is not considered a true ligament in that it does not physically support any anatomical structures; however it is an important landmark and it houses the ovarian vessels. The suspensory ligament is directed upward over the iliac vessels. This is also called infundibula – pelvic ligament (I call it O.S.L. instead of IP)

HAS to slide and glide within us – this is bladder with womb on top

REMINDER – PERITONEUM
OVARIAN TORSION – happens – and is potentially fatal . .
Often in young girls, who then have lost an ovary, have scars, adhesions and a life messed with.
MALE – FEMALE

There is so much I today have dumped into the messenger chat . . Will get that sorted out at some point.
Please watch all the anatomy pages and also self paced learning n line – and maybe share if you see a great example – easy to understand that is better than the ones here (he is boring in tone but the info is easily assembled).
